The fact that vintage is more than just a business model is demonstrated every day by the dedication that the head of the Huber Vintage Lounge, Hansjörg Roshard, shows in his work.

Every timepiece that passes through his hands is meticulously inspected, reviewed and, if necessary, refurbished using all the skills of an artist. "We give every item the attention it deserves," says Roshard. It goes without saying that every single timepiece here is a unique object of particular value.
Hansjörg Roshard has been working at Huber Fine Watches & Jewellery for over 16 years. He began in 2007 as head of the watchmaking workshop and since 2021 he has been the head of the Huber Vintage Lounge.

Watches and Swiss Air

Yet Hansjörg was not always a watchmaker; before this career he had trained as a mechanic with Swissair. As he likes to say, "What I'm now doing on a very small scale, I used to do then on a very big scale." He was as fascinated by the on-board instruments as he was by, say, a jet engine measuring three meters across and weighing seven tonnes. He always saw them all as part of one big system that needed to work perfectly.
Nowadays, he is just as fascinated by a tiny watch movement, because "it has to work for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year," says this perfectionist. He regards a watch mechanism as the ultimate combination of form and function. And if it comes from Switzerland, Hansjörg is even more pleased – "Made in Switzerland" is his personal quality criterion.
