The 30T2RG is one of the most famous chronometer calibers ever produced. It was a further development of the 30 mm hand-wound movement that Omega launched at the end of the 1930s. Its precision and reliability very quickly made it an ideal candidate for chronometer-certified watches produced from 1941 onwards. Its dimensions were also an important feature, as its diameter was just the right size to compete in chronometer competitions as a wristwatch caliber rather than a pocket watch caliber. Omega introduced several wristwatches in the 1940s that focused on finishing the in-house calibers (either small or center seconds), while each of the dials proudly displayed its chronometer qualification.
